Tamil Nadu State Budget 2017 – 18 Full Highlights and Key Features:

The Tamilnadu State finance minister D. Jayakumar had presented the Tamilnadu Budget for the financial year 2017-18.

For the first time D. Jayakumar finance minister of Tamilnadu had presented the Budget on 16th March 2017, Thursday in the Tamil Nadu assembly.

Tamilnadu Budget 2017-18 Highlights:
* 1,000 rural area temples to get Rs 1 lakh per temple for renovation
* 10,000 blind people to get smart canes.
* 265 temples with Anna Daanam scheme
* About Rs 43.76 crore for 30 new Primary Health Centres
* crop insurance subsidy scheme allotted for Rs 522 crore
* Economically weaker to get 3.5 lakh plot of land
* Farmer Producer Organisations allocated with Rs 100 crore
* for 20,000 houses building Rs 420 crore allotted under Green housing project
* free laptop scheme allotted with Rs 758 crore
* PG medical seats changed to 1,362
* Rs 130 crore allotted for Kanchipuram Medical Park
* Rs 16998 crore for Electricity Departments
* Rs 2,000 will be the pension for the Disability
* Rs 272 crore allotted for eradication of poverty in cities in Tamil Nadu
* Rs 282 crore for Prison Department and Police Department allocated with Rs 1483 crore
* Rs 4500 had been set the Relief fund for fishermen
* Rs 75 crore earmarked for Global Investors Meet scheduled in 2017-18
* sanitary napkin provision scheme allotted Rs 61 crore
* School education department allotted with Rs 26,932 crore while Rs 3,680 crore for Higher education department
* scooters for Women subsidiary scheme allotted with Rs 200 crore
* State Development Policy Council will be replaced from State Planning Commission by Tamil Nadu Government
