Cyclone Vardah Storm Latest Status of Rainfall Tamilnadu Helpline Numbers:

Vardah is the new name given by Pakistan which means red rose for the cyclonic storm emerged to the Bay of Bengal.

On 12th December 2016, Monday very severe cyclonic storm named Vardah was located near latitude 13.2°N and longitude 81.9°E which is about 180 km east-northeast of Chennai in Tamil Nadu state.

The land areas affected due to the Cyclonic Storm Vardah are Sumatra, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Thailand, Malaysia, India, Sri Lanka.

Due the Vardah Cyclone there about 6 teams of National Disaster Response Force NDRF in the state of Andhra Pradesh and 8 teams of National Disaster Response Force NDRF in the state of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry.

Train Number 66026 from Sullurpetta departing at noon 12.00 hrs on 12th December 2016 is fully cancelled while Train Number 12711 of Vijayawada – Chennai Central Pinakini Express, Train Number 12712 of Chennai Central – Vijayawada Pinakini Express and Train Number 66030 of Nellore – Sullurpetta MEMU is partially cancelled between Gudur and Sullurpetta.

The Tamilnadu Government had announced that on 12th December 2016 all Schools and Colleges in Chennai, Kancheepuram and Tiruvallur, besides coastal taluks of Villupuram declared holiday.
