Cyclone Ockhi 2017 Latest Information, Helpline Number Kanyakumari, Tirunelveli:
The India Meteorological Department reported the tropical storm named cyclone Ockhi for the districts in South Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Lakshadweep.
Due to Cyclone Ockhi the breaking of tree branches and uprooting of trees had happened which resulted in the power cut and damage of communication lines.
The state and national disaster response force teams was deployed in Kanyakumari district by the Government of Tamilnadu.
On 1st December 2017 Chennai, Kanchipuram, Villupuram, Kanyakumari, Nellai, Theni, Dindigul, Madurai and Thoothukudi districts Schools are declared holiday.
On 1st December 2017, Friday Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami had informed that ex-gratia of Rs 4 lakh of five people who died in cyclone Ockhi in Kanyakumari district.
As per the report about five people have died due to heavy rain caused by cyclone Ockhi and about 22 fishermen are missing in the Kanyakumari district.
